Abstract
The population suffering from diabetes
mellitus is gradually increasing worldwide,
and every day individuals are at risk of
suffering from this pathology,
compromising their health. The objective of
the research was to describe the prevalence,
risk factors, sociodemographics and clinical
diagnoses of DM. A search of articles
published within the years 2010-2021 was
carried out, among which we have scientific
articles at regional and global level, such as:
ScienDirect, SemanticScholar, Scielo,
Redaclyc, Dialnet, Elsiever. From the
previously analyzed articles, we were able to
obtain results of the variables exposed,
among which we have: In the prevalence we
found with a maximum value Chile with
88.5 %, among the risk factors highlighted
are the non-modifiable ones: Sex, Age, Race
and Family History, on the other hand, in the
modifiable ones we have: Obesity,
Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Weight,
Sedentary lifestyle, among others. In the
sociodemographic evaluation, it was found
that Latin America has the highest rate of
DM, due to the fact that one of the
predominant factors is the low economic
status. Among the diagnostic methods we
have: Fasting glucose, hemoglobin bA1,
tolerance test, among others. With an
average age which are: 13> years of age (in
the minimum value) and <65 (in the
maximum value). It is concluded that this
pathology does not measure the social class
or the type of preparation that can be
obtained, it can affect both children, young
people, on the other hand to any sex or
regardless of the content that is, everything
depends on the care and control that each
individual carries.

La diabetes es una enfermedad metabólica la
cual tiene un aumento progresivo de su
prevalencia mundial. El riesgo de desarrollar
enfermedad cardiovascular, nefropatias,
