El objetivo fue diseñar una propuesta para un Centro de Educación Superior, tomando como referencia la Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí (UNESUM), en la cual los trabajadores están inseguros en sus áreas de trabajo, la comunicación con los mandos e intermedios es deficiente, existen debilidades en la promoción de un entorno seguro a través de las competencias &nbsp;y motivaciones&nbsp; sobre riesgos&nbsp; laborales. &nbsp;La &nbsp;investigación &nbsp;arrojó &nbsp;como resultados que existe una acentuada falta de compromiso por parte del nivel directivo en mejorar la seguridad laboral y la calidad de vida del personal de la UNESUM. Para una mejor comprensión &nbsp;y entendimiento&nbsp; didáctico,&nbsp; se estudiaron diferentes &nbsp;modelos,&nbsp; en especial los aplicados en los Centros de Educación Superior para diseñar estrategias y así disminuir o eliminar los riesgos de trabajo. La metodología fue de tipo no experimental, sustentada en la recolección de información primaria y secundaria en el contexto laboral de la Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí.</p><p><strong><em>Palabras clave</em></strong>: Modelo de gestión de personal; Riesgo laboral;&nbsp;&nbsp; Salud ocupacional; Competencias laborales</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>&nbsp;The research was motivated on the problems of the actual state of occupational neatness and safety in an institution of higher education, its study &nbsp;object &nbsp;was the occupational neatness safety (ONS. The goal was to design a proposal for a Centre of Higher Education, taking reference to the Estatal del Sur de Manabí university (UNESUM), in which workers are insecure in their areas of work, communication with the controls and intermediates is poor, there are weaknesses in promoting a secure environment through competitions and motivations on occupational hazards. the research yielded such results that there is a marked lack of commitment from the management level to improve workplace safety and quality of life of UNESUM &nbsp;staff. For a better understanding and teaching understanding, studied different models, especially those applied in higher education institutions to design strategies and thus reduce or eliminate the risks of work.
