Rutas de aviturismo como producto turístico

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to design birdwatching routes as a tourism product. The research was conducted using an applied methodology, utilizing bibliographic and field research techniques, at an exploratory, descriptive, and analytical level. Natural resource planning was carried out to enhance tourist visits, while also promoting the emergence of local businesses linked to nature tourism. Within the work carried out, 81 species of birds were identified, which were classified by their scientific name, in Spanish and English. With the data obtained, it was possible to demonstrate the ornithological diversity, which helped to establish the three types of tourist routes with ideal characteristics for the observation of representative birds of the area. Within the routes, Tizal-Beche, Uleam-Chamanga and Cojimíes-La Bonilla were designed. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that the Cojimíes River Estuary has significant potential for the development of nature tourism thanks to the diversity of flora and fauna that favor birdwatching year-round. In addition, the community located within the study area will generate employment and strengthen its culture. This work lays the foundation for the implementation of a tourism product that can contribute to the area's status as a birdwatching destination.
